The Spartan Carbon was released in 2016 but SHARK Helmets has added 11 new colour options for this year (taking the total to 14) as well as some new features. The firm says the focus has been on making the Spartan range as aerodynamic as possible, not only to reduce drag but also to reduce wind noise. A ‘SHARK Skin’ cover has been added to the side mechanism of the visor to help reduce noise too. There’s a retractable, integrated sun visor and a Pinlock anti-mist visor is also included. The Spartan Carbon weighs just 1290g, has a quickrelease visor, removable and washable lining plus a double-d chin strap and, like other SHARK lids, is compatible with the Sharktooth communications system.
