How to pick a spot

-

Avoid low lying areas near rivers in case the waters rise. While the shelter and shade of trees seems good, remember – things fall off them. Don’t pitch your tent with the entrance into a prevailing wind or it will blow things into your tent. Pitch up on slightly sloping ground so your head is marginally higher than your feet. Check for rocks and roots and clear the ground well. Avoid hollows as cold air sinks and water collects there too. Don’t camp on animal tracks and look out for ants and creepy crawlies.
