Casual biking boots will never offer the same levels of protection as track-focused race boots. But then not everyone rides like a racer, so different levels of protection are available. Even the most casual bike boots offer some level of armour to help keep you safe on the bike, and if you’re only doing town commutes or gentle cruiser riding then it’s arguable that you don’t really require track-focused protection.
