Stand that also delivers
A gadget I use as an alternative to paddock stands is a Wheel Spinner. It is a wedge-shaped device with two steel rollers set about 5 inches apart. You back the bike onto it so the rear wheel rests between the rollers then
place the puck under the sidestand and use the Velcro strap to tie off the front brake. It does take rather a firm pull to move the wheel but you can do all your chain adjustment, lubing and
cleaning easily. It says you can also use it for front-wheel work but as yet I haven’t. I found this gadget in a bike dealer’s for £25. Peter Diggles
