Ducati’s entry-level alternatives
The Monster 797’s arrival means that Ducati now have two distinct paths for those choosing a Bologna-built V-twin for the first time: Monster or Scrambler. The traditional Monster route comes via two near-identical models. The standard 797 costs £7895 in red, and £7995 in white or black. The Monster 797 Plus, which is simply the same bike wearing an accessory flyscreen and pillion seat cover, costs £8245 (£8345 in white or black).
The Scrambler gives some slightly cheaper options with the same 803cc capacity. The Scrambler Icon costs £7650 in red, and £100 more in silver or yellow. There are also more expensive Scramblers: the Classic and Full Throttle, which cost £8850, and the new Café Racer and Desert Sled, which are over £9000. Alternatively the least expensive Ducati remains the 399cc Scrambler Sixty2, which starts at £6750.
