Yamaha wheeled out a track-prepped R6 to show the impact of the Euro 4 restrictions – and the bike’s full potential. Swapping the stock catalyst-equipped pipe for an Akrapovic race system and Yamaha’s race kit ECU transforms the R6, with more midrange and top end. Plus, losing around 10kg by ditching the stock pipe and some road kit sharpened up the handling. Most owners will consider exhaust/fuelling mods.
