Road Racer - It’s In My Blood
Price £20 hardback
This is an interesting account of the youngest and most colourful of the Dunlop dynasty, Michael. It’s certainly honest and gives a real insight into this incredible family, their outlook on life, death and racing motorbikes. The way it deals with the death of Robert Dunlop – Michael’s father – is very powerful and Michael is openly honest about his slightly out-of-control temperament. Our proof copy is let down slightly by the ghost writer’s lack of correct terminology – he gets Michael’s voice just right and it’s totally believable until he calls leathers “overalls”. Hopefully this will be corrected in the final version because for road-racing fans this is a great read.
Your Guide To Early Honda Motorcycles And The David Silver Collection
Price £12 softback, £25 hardback
You have to be into your classic Hondas to appreciate the work that has gone into this book but if you are, it’s an interesting read. I found myself heading to the bikes I own or have owned, then ones I’ve wanted… and from there to others. It’s a nice blend of the history of the Honda firm and its bikes – and, as such, the history of modern motorcycling. For Honda fans, the only thing better is a visit to the East Anglian coast see the incredible collection David Silver has amassed.

There have been many programmes about TT legend John Mcguiness, so why should you watch a low-budget Youtube video? Because actor and film-maker Andrew Shim (he was Milky in This is England) is a massive bike fan and got closer to John, his family and his life, than any large-scale TV crew ever could. It’s a little amateur in production and the volume shoots up and down in places but it really captures the humble nature of this incredible rider. Addictive viewing.
