An undervalued hero

I feel I must write to you about the recent death of John Surtees. All weekend I have been in utter amazement to find that there was not a mention of this on the news: here was a man who achieved something that nobody else ever will: winning two world titles on two and four wheels (and not even knighted in recognition of this achievement).

What really got my blood boiling is that while he never got a mention for the hero he was, the singer from Sister Sledge got air time on the news. I could go on put will stop before my blood pressure gets too high. Eric Whitenstall
