IT’S AT THIS time of year, when pushing my pride and joy out onto the drive for the first sunny ride of spring, that the moment of doubt appears: isn’t it time to trade up? The thing is, with teenage kids and bills to pay, I don’t have the cash to splash for a brand-new bike. Luckily, there are more brilliant used machines around than ever – as Matt found when he investigated the second-hand market (see p57). Then again… perhaps a PCP deal would make a new bike affordable? We round up the pick of the deals on p63. But whatever your bike, new or old, the best news this month has been the weather picking up. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off for a ride to enjoy it. I won’t stop off at my local dealers, though.
