Where to go
Isle of Man TT May 27–June 9
If you’ve never been to the TT, it might be hard to grasp why it’s so special – but there genuinely is nothing else on Earth that’s quite like it. For two brief weeks, an entire island in the Irish Sea gives itself over to the rush of real roads racing, becoming the biggest motorcycle festival on earth.
If you haven’t booked already, it has to be said that you’ll be lucky to get your bike over there now: the ferries are likely to be full. However, for those of us unable to get to the 106th TT, the event will be televised on ITV4. See crowds’ favourite Guy Martin racing alongside living legend John Mcguinness, facing on-form stars like Michael Dunlop and Ian Hutchinson. Whether you’re catching it on the small screen or from the roadside, it truly is a unique event.
