After initial strong sales, the Sprint ST’S popularity dwindled and it was discontinued in 2014. The Sprint GT is still here, based on the ST but with a low-level exhaust, longer swingarm, bigger pillion space and larger panniers. Proof of how right Triumph got the ST is in its residuals: a 2005 Sprint ST 1050 will still cost around £3250 with average miles; newer, low-mileage examples coming in at nearer £6000. But think very carefully if you’re looking in that price range, because for £8999 on the road, you can have a brand-new Sprint GT SE, with panniers and topbox, taller screen and heated grips.
