New reusable, soft filter-type earplugs promise differing levels of noise reduction. They come in two specs: Tour ones allow a little more ambient noise to pass, while Race ones offer the highest level of protection. Both sets cost £12.95 and come with one set of the plugs, a little applicator tool to get them in your ear plus a zip-up pouch to keep them in. There’s also a Pro set (£22.95) with a set of black-filtered Tour and red-filtered Race plugs - so you can choose which you want on a particular ride - with a larger carrying/storage pouch plus a tube of cleaning spray to keep the plugs in good condition and pleasant to use.
