Unserviceable too
It is with interest that I read the “Unserviceable” letter (August) as I am having a very similar experience with a new Honda CB500X. It was bought to replace an ageing and temperamental Kawasaki Versys as my daily commuter, but I am also encountering similar waiting periods for regular servicing.
These are bikes sold on the basis of practicality, useability and novice friendliness but what commuter can accept the nonsense that is a five-to-six week wait for servicing? This even makes public transport a practical option. How will the industry entice new riders on to two wheels when dealerships make the ownership experience such a pain and car ownership offers a more useable, convenient, reliable and often cheaper means of transport?
