Harley a surprise

-

Good to see a Harely in RIDE. I have a Street Glide and I agree with everything you said. My other bike is a 2005 Kawasaki ZX-10R and you couldn’t get two more different machines – I love them both equally but you can’t judge them in the same way.

It doesn’t matter to me that the Harley doesn’t brake and turn like the 10R or that the Kawasaki doesn’t turn heads like the Street Glide. They’re different bikes for different jobs. I wouldn’t want the hair-trigger brakes and super-firm race suspension of the superbike on the cruiser… and if it feels a bit agricultural riding that after doing a trackday on the Japanese bike, I just need a word with myself. The problem isn’t with the bike, it’s with the rider being in the wrong mode.

I love my Harley, but it really isn’t like any other kind of bike. It’s in a

class of its own. I’m glad you worked that out and identified what makes Harleys so good to ride. Nathan Simster
