KTM 1290 Super Adventure S
There are now three versions of the 1290 Super Adventure, with substantial differences between them. This, the S model, is the most road-focused, as it’s the only one of the three to come with cast (rather than spoked) wheels. In its £14,299 spec it has keyless ignition, an LED headlight boosted by six leansensitive cornering lights, tyre pressure monitors and four riding modes. The Travel Pack (£584.40) adds a two-way quickshifter, hill-hold control and Bluetooth connection to your phone. Heated grips are an extra £166.44. Fit these two optional extras to an S, to give a comparable spec to the BMW GS TE, and the bill comes to £15,049.84 – and that’s what our PCP quote below is based on.
Luggage is extra, though the mounts themselves are fitted as standard. The pair of panniers is £831.96, while a matching top box is a further £417.24.
