WITH A PILLION
Little thought or consideration has been given to carrying a passenger. There are footrests and what can only be described as a super-downsized seat pad that perches any plucky pillion way above the rider. It’s by no means a place for anyone to spend any length of time – not someone you like, at any rate…
Our brave passenger Caz gave it a go and described it as ungainly and left her feeling very exposed. There are no grab handles either, so pillions are forced to hold on to the rider or face toppling off the back.
LUGGAGE AND LOAD
The minimal pillion seat provision means there’s not much space to attach a tailpack. We attempted to fit a mid-sized pack to the back of the R6 and it can be achieved, just. The pillion footrest hangers provide a secure mount for the front bungees, but there’s nothing for the rear. So we ended up simply wrapping the bungees around and under the seat, which meant the tailpack wasn’t stable enough to be used safely. We would recommend using a rucksack and maybe a tankbag instead.
