THE MERC COMES in a range of colour schemes and the spec is impressive for the price. Constructed from soft-shell material with reinforced panels, there are well integrated vents and it’s waterproof (so far). Internal armour is D3O and in the usual shoulder and elbow areas, but there’s also a D3O back protector included - a feature you rarely see on jackets twice the price. LS
