2018 prices announced
ARE YOU SITTING
down? Manufacturers have started to confirm prices for 2018 bikes. Kawasaki’s hotly anticipated
H2 SX supercharged sportstourer costs £15,239 in standard trim and £18,239 for the posh SE model. Both are due in dealers in February, as is the new Ninja 400 costing £5345 (race-rep KRT colours add £150). Beating them both into showrooms is the Z900RS (see p54), with prices starting at £10,039, though you’ll have to wait til March for the Z900RS
Café, which will cost £10,489. Ducati’s enlarged Multistrada 1260 has a similarly expanded £14,435 pricetag, while for the S version that jumps to £17,335. Salty but still less than the new V4 superbikes. The standard Panigale V4 starts at £19,435; the V4 S is £24,035; and the flagship V4 Speciale is a whopping £35,135. Youch. Less extravagant is the Scrambler
1100 range. The standard model starts at £10,835, the Special is £11,635 and the Öhlinsequipped Sport is £12,435.
Continuing in a similar vein, KTM’S all-new 790 Duke will cost £8499 which seems competitive, given that it comes with lean-sensitive rider aids, a TFT dash and two-way quickshifter as standard. The bike will be launched in the new year, in dealers for spring.
BMW’S F750GS appears to be cheaper, starting at £7950 — but all the juicy bits are extra. Add all the packages plus the fancy TFT dash and the price leaps to over £11k. Similarly the
F850GS starts at £9400 but in fully loaded trim, it’s over £13k.
Triumph, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and others were yet to reveal their 2018 prices at the time that RIDE went to press. We can only pray for some price restraint.
