Triumph Tiger 1200 XCA

-

The six-strong Tiger 1200 range starts at £12,200 — but this flagship XCA model (spoked wheels, tall screen, heated grips and seats, keyless ignition, Arrow silencer, backlit switchgear, semi-active suspension, cruise control, LED foglights and plenty more) jumps to an equally well-loaded £16,950. The XCA no longer comes with pannier mounts as standard, so if you want Triumph’s plastic ‘Adventure’ panniers (62 litres total storage) that’s an extra £725. If you prefer the metal ‘Expedition’ panniers (74 litres total storage) that’s an extra £840, or £880 in black. Our bike came with just the Expedition topbox, which is £436 including the fitting kit.

Triumph doesn’t claim kerb-weight figures, but our scales show the XCA weighs 274kg with a full tank but no topbox. An enormous 496kg weight limit leaves an impressive 222kg payload — the most of the four bikes.
