‘Cashback sites can save you money too’

When the renewal for my Aprilia Falco came through and was £3 more than the previous year, I decided to shop around. I use the cashback website topcashback.co.uk for online purchases, which rewards purchase with money back later. It costs £5 a year and also has an insurance comparison tool.

The cheapest quote it returned was £50 less than my renewal - with the same insurer! I called to ask if they could match it without the hassle of a new policy but the answer was no so I cancelled and clicked ‘buy’ on the new quote.

Six months later, once the insurer was happy I hadn’t cancelled the policy (standard practice), the money paid out. I ended up saving £80.
