New material to revolutionise bike security?

-

A team of scientists has created a new material it says can’t be cut. The material, Proteus, uses ceramic spheres suspended in an aluminium foam to repel attacks from angle grinders, drill bits and water jet cutters. Attacking any material creates vibration but when Proteus is attacked, its ceramic spheres resonate, amplify the vibration and send it back at the tool being used. Within seconds, the tools are ruined and the material remains uncut. What’s more, Proteus weighs 85% less than steel, so it’s lightweight too.
