Q How much power does it really make?
Manufacturers claim that on many new bikes with rider aids, engines don’t rev-out with the front wheel stationary on a dyno. That seems to be the case here, because despite making a healthy 201bhp at the rear wheel (Honda claims 214bhp at the crank), the power falls off at 14,000rpm, 500rpm short of its red line. It’s a massive 30bhp up on the old model though but makes less power all the way to 11,000rpm, which is why it feels flatter on the road.
