The Sidi is a tall boot, much like the brand’s sports variants, with a high zip and a small Velcro-fastened flap at the top. They have a strong heel cup and toe box and feature a hard, TPU ankle armour section. The long zip made these easy to get on but the short Velcro-fastened flap means that getting the large, gaping calf opening tight was almost impossible, with the boot flopping around the top on the leg. The heel also felt looser than some others, with room all around though strangely, slightly tight on the outside of the left foot. On the bike, they did everything expected of them, with enough movement to get under the gear lever and reasonable feel for the brakes. But it was the gap at the top against the leg that started to become annoying after a while. In both the spray test and the dunk test, the Sidis allowed no water in whatsoever.
