‘As soon as I saw my twin brother’s, I ordered mine!’
“Having ridden all sorts of bikes since 1975, my Interceptor is probably the most laid back of them all. I wouldn’t go touring around Europe on it but if the sun is shining and I have an afternoon, then a bimble in the countryside on this docile wee twin fits the bill perfectly. That beautifulsounding engine (well done on the firing order, RE) coupled with probably the smoothest gearbox of any bike I’ve had is the perfect recipe to soothe your soul.
The price was excellent (I sold my Tiger 1200 and bought both this and a VFR800 with the proceeds), the build quality is adequate and the handling and the performance in general exceed expectations.
As I get older and whittle down my bike collection, I expect the Enfield might end up being the only two wheels left in my garage. The other Enfield in the picture belongs to my twin brother Ian. He got his first and, as soon as I saw it, I ordered mine. A pair of twins, on twin twins!” Mike Harper

I only bought it in June and have managed just over 900 miles but I’ve had the seat customised (for aesthetics only, as I found the original seat was very comfortable), then got heated grips and crash bars fitted. ‘My motor, induction and pipes are OE but full YSS suspension and a re-covered seat gives better comfort and a more controlled ride. The package is great but the low price gives scope to individualise. I looked at a Speed Twin and Z900RS but the Enfield had all I wanted. The bike has been reliable over 5.5k miles.’ Paul Messenger
