‘Are taller riders well catered-for?’

-

Your feature in the January 21 issue that dealt with bike options for shorter riders was great, but opens up the discussion and need for information for everyone else who’s not average.

My own plight is being long of limbs and slim, best highlighted by my ‘normal’ jeans size of 31W 36L.

So, my question is how about a comprehensive article to help all of us with long legs? Information such as general bike types, specific bikes (new, secondhand and on a budget), OEM accessories, aftermarket bike mods etc. And (of course) clothing — especially textile trousers, jeans and waterproof over-trousers. It’s an interesting idea — I’m 6’2” and long-limbed and the only problems I really have is sometimes jackets are a bit short in the arm and it hurts if I ride an R6. I’ve definitely not got a 31in waist though. In my experience, the Northern European kit manufacturers, like Richa, Rev’it and Held, work best for taller riders. Are there any tall or slim riders out there who feel the same as Paul and that the issue warrants a feature? MW
