Pattern fairing is OK, not perfect
It is very hard to complain about paying just £320 for a painted injectionmoulded fairing, screen, mudguards, pillion seat cover and seat unit (delivered) that actually fits the bike.
If you have bought a reasonably cheap faired bike that is in need of a bit of sprucing up, then a pattern fairing makes total sense when compared to the costs of replacing damaged panels with OE ones — new or used - especially if you're running a daily-rider rather than an concours-level bike. It's also a far cheaper way to repair your bike in a crash. The variety is getting bigger, too.
However, in terms of the quality of the paintwork and the overall level of finish, you will never be able to pass off a pattern fairing as an OE one. The colours aren’t correct, the logos are wrong and there are areas where it is noticeably sub-standard in its fit.
