The biggest problem facing the H2 SX is simply the fact that the normallyaspirated Z1000SX (or now, Ninja 1000SX) is so good, many riders don’t see the point in paying any extra for a supercharger. Now the H2 SX is in the used market however, it’s a different story. You can pick up an early bike for just a shade over £11k, which is the same as a new Ninja SX. Far from a gimmick, the supercharger gives the SX a monster dollop of midrange punch while not adding too drastically to its weight and, therefore, agility. And you also get that wonderful chirrup on over-run. If you are a fan of the ZZR1400, the H2 SX is almost as gutsy (it’s not as smooth, it has to be said) and has better electronic assists and more agility.

The stock bike lacks a centrestand, so add one for £250.95 for an official Kawasaki item. Or find a used one online.
