‘I’m a biking giraffe’
I am 74 years old (and not as flexible as I used to be); 6’4”; 38” waist; 34” leg and I find therefore that a 34” leg is barely long enough when seated on my bike, a 2014 BMW R1200RT. I also have a long back and arms, so have problems with length in those
areas. By trying on plenty of kit, I have settled on a Richa suit which works except for the arm length, which is acceptable but could be better. I seldom had a problem when Hein Gericke were more freely available. My last suit from there had an adjustable (with Velcro) length trouser leg which worked well. I still own a 25-year-old leather jacket which is comfortable and still fits me well.
Could you also look at the glove sizes provided? I have really large hands and long fingers. 4XL seems to be a minimum, but the interpretation of sizes manufacturer to manufacturer varies by a considerable amount and effectively, if I find a pair of gloves that fit me, I buy them whether I need them or not! Buying online does not seem viable as I find I need to try before I buy and almost always have to return them.
I am sure there must be a solution somewhere. Thanks for the idea; I hope it turns into an article that proves useful for the motorcycling equivalent of giraffes.
