MULTI V4 S

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

‘Doesn’t the

19in front wheel compromise handling?’

Richard Collins

No. It suits the Multi’s chassis better than the 17in. The 19in 950 steers more sweetly and is more agile than the 17in 1260; on the road it’s better. You might not have access to the same trackday rubber as the 1260, but if it’s lap times at Cadwell you’re after, a Panigale might be better.

‘Sounds like a rival to BMW’S S1000XR more than the GS’

David Compton

Yes, it does — in truth, the V4’s a rival to both. Ducati’s keen to demonstrate the V4’s Gsa-rivalling assets but in reality, on the road, the standard V4 S (without wire rims, off-road rubber etc) is more comparable to an XR.

‘Will Ducati still sell the 1260 Enduro?’

Paul Hoppington

Ducati won’t say so directly and it is still available under extended derogation until the end of 2021. But after that, no more big-bore V-twin Multistradas — and it seems unlikely, given the way the V4 is copying the 950’s model strategy, that there will be a 30-litre Enduro version.
