Pinlock essential, spray useful

Ultimately, this test confirmed what we thought we already knew — Pinlock inserts are the most convenient and effective way to prevent the inside of your visor from misting up.

Assuming they're properly fitted, they keep mist at bay and require minimal care and attention. However, they aren't infallible. Depending on the air flow into your helmet, you may still get some misting in very cold conditions.

This isn't to say there isn’t a place for an anti-mist spray like Muc-off's. Every rider will have experienced a drop-down sun visor or a pair of glasses misting up at some point in the past and in these situations, the spray is a handy addition to a Pinlock. However, like the visor, it can create blurry vision depending on how much hot air you produce.

But when it comes to essential visor fog prevention, it’s a Pinlock insert.
