Exploring the horizon in new Lancashire artwork

- Steve@aata.me

THE latest exhibition at Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre offers an opportunity to view and buy the mixed-media paintings of Tina Foran.

Land-scapes opens on Friday, December 16 and runs until Sunday, January 22.

The upstairs gallery space will be filled with works inspired by her walks around Lancashire.

Tina is a practising visual artist and qualified art tutor working in the community throughout the north west.

Land-scapes became the theme of her latest exhibition after she spent time walking in the Lancashire countryside, often using a sketchbook and photographs to start off the creative process.

She uses an idea of the horizon line being able to representative something else.

In the studio this research allows further ideas and practices to be developed and refined.

From this, the work develops into paintings that are expressive through colour and texture using oil paint and varnish, printing, collage and drawing.

Tina’s studio is on Rochdale Road, Todmorden, opposite Morrisons and next to Sofa Workshop.
