Third round trip to Barrow in the offing

ROCHDALE were drawn out against National League side Barrow in the third round draw of the Emirates FA Cup on Monday.

The tie will be played at the Furness Building Society Stadium on the weekend of January 6th 2017. The Bluebirds currently sit fifth in their division and saw off Taunton Town and Bristol Rovers to book their place in the third round of the competitio­n. Confirmed fixture details will be announced in due course.

Dale will be hosting their annual Family Christmas Fun Day when Dale play Scunthorpe United this afternoon.

There will be a free Santa’s Grotto for the little ones in the Carlsberg Lounge before kick off from 2pm to 3pm.

Santa will also visit children in the stands at half-time.

A club spokesman said: “Look out for the giant snow dome located outside the Ratcliffe Bars, where you can have fun in the snow and have your photograph taken.

“The Wardle Academy brass band will be in attendance and will be playing traditiona­l Christmas Carols.

“The game is our Christmas Jumper Day, so don your jumper and get dressed up for the occasion! Don’t forget, Christmas jumpers are on sale now at the RAFC Club Shop. Let us get you in the Christmas spirit at the Crown Oil Arena – fun for all the family! Fans can pay on the day, or buy tickets in advance via the club’s online ticketing site.”

Half season tickets are still available and are valid from Dale’s fixture against Shrewsbury Town on December 30th. The half season ticket gives purchasers access to 11 scheduled league games at the Crown Oil Arena before the end of the season. That’s less than £10 per game! See club website for details.
