Two arrested as girl, 2, is left fighting for life
ATODDLER from Rochdale is fighting for her life following an alleged assault at a house.
Officers were called to Daimler Street in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, at around 7pm on Wednesday night.
It’s understood paramedics had attended the property an hour earlier, and had taken a patient to North Manchester General.
A man and woman have both been arrested on suspicion of assault.
GMP confirmed a twoyear-old girl had suffered serious head injuries.
One resident said: “I saw the ambulance on the corner and assumed someone was sick. It’s a shock. I hope she’s OK.”
Another added: “I’m a single mum and it hurts me to hear a girl that age has been hurt.”
A GMP spokesperson said: “We were alerted by the North West Ambulance Service at 7pm on Wednesday that a twoyear-old girl from Rochdale had been taken to hospital with serious head injuries.
“She remains in a critical condition.
“A 34-year-old man from Manchester has been arrested on suspicion of assault.
“Officers have also arrested a woman, 37, on suspicion of assault.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact police using the log 1904 of January 11.”
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 5.42pm to Daimler Street in Cheetham Hill. An ambulance arrived at 5.49pm and a patient was taken to North Manchester General.”
