Teams for open matches

A NEW series of open matches started at the weekend with teams of three with two anglers fishing on Croft and one on the canal in each match. The Environment Agency will be doing a Bathymetric Survey of the bottom of Grove Lodge on Thursday, commencing at 10am. This will provide the society with a ‘picture’ of the exact depths of the water in the lodge-and where the silt has spread to. The EA will then follow up this survey with a fish survey using nets on Monday March 6th.

Todmorden Angling Society are having a trade stand at The Northern Angling show which will take place at Event City (next to Trafford Centre, Manchester ) on Saturday and Sunday April 1st/2nd 2017. Tickets for the event are now on sale at www. northernanglingshow. co.uk.

The Canal & River Trust drained sections of the Rochdale Canal near to Summit (Fothergill’s) on Tuesday. Fish will be moved to Summit section. Next week Warland section (lock 34-35) will have the same treatment.
