A NEW series of open matches started at the weekend with teams of three with two anglers fishing on Croft and one on the canal in each match. The Environmen­t Agency will be doing a Bathymetri­c Survey of the bottom of Grove Lodge on Thursday, commencing at 10am. This will provide the society with a ‘picture’ of the exact depths of the water in the lodge-and where the silt has spread to. The EA will then follow up this survey with a fish survey using nets on Monday March 6th.

Todmorden Angling Society are having a trade stand at The Northern Angling show which will take place at Event City (next to Trafford Centre, Manchester ) on Saturday and Sunday April 1st/2nd 2017. Tickets for the event are now on sale at www. northernan­glingshow. co.uk.

The Canal & River Trust drained sections of the Rochdale Canal near to Summit (Fothergill’s) on Tuesday. Fish will be moved to Summit section. Next week Warland section (lock 34-35) will have the same treatment.
