Huseyn stars as Dojo hauls in golds

A 19-STRONG team from The Dojo Karate Centre returned from the NMACGB National Series in Norwich with an amazing 51 medals.

While all squad members performed excellentl­y, the best performanc­es from Team Dojowere from Huseyn Mikayilov who won five golds, Natalie Dean won three golds, two silvers, Daniel Tarasevic won three golds and a silver, Ethan Hulse won three golds and a bronze.

The highlight of the day was Ethan, 13, and Huseyn, 16, winning the Adults Self-defence category where there were 3rd and 4th Dans competing – just going to show the high standard coaching given by their coach Sensei Irfan Ansari.

Meanwhile, the club’s latest Black Belt achiever is 13-year-old Cameron Morgan.

After joining the Dojo he took to the training diligently and he has reaped many rewards.

Now aged 18, Cameron hopes to continue in Martial Arts by helping those younger than himself, acquiring coaching skills at The Dojo Karate Centre.

Ansari said: “Cameron has come a long way from his first lesson. He is a confident and a very pleasant young man who helps others.”
