Boro back in action with Cumbria trip

-

AFTER having no game last weekend, Littleborough RUFC will be glad to return to action when they make the trip to Aspatria today.

They have to make the trip to Cumbria to face a team doing well in the league, so it will be a difficult time for selection as some players are unable to take the long journey.

The season has also taken its toll on a number of injuries making selection no easy matter.

The seconds also have a game on Saturday when they travel to Vale of Lune thirds, while Boro thirds head to North Manchester seconds.

Meanwhile, one member of the Littleborough RUFC ladies team has been rewarded for her efforts after she received an MBE.

Lorraine Anderson picked up the accolade in the New Year’s Honours List 2017 for services to Army Reserve recruiting.

Her background has been mainly military, joining her Service with the WRAC, who she served for 24 years.

She recently relocated to Littleborough and went on to join the Littleborough RUFC ladies team, going on to become a prominent member for the past year. Lorraine has played over 15 matches this season, performing exceptionally well in front of around 80 supporters.

The aim is to get into the league next season, and are hoping to recruit more players. Training is on a Wednesday evening between 7pm and 8pm at Rakewood Road. See the club’s website.
