Oldham walk to boost charity trio

-

ROCHDALE AFC are holding a charity walk/ run to Oldham today when the two teams will meet at Boundary Park on Saturday 22nd April.

The club and the club’s community sports trust and the supporters trust are holding the event to raise funds for three charities. They are Bloodwise, Joe Thompson’s designated charity, Prostate Cancer UK, and for former Rochdale academy player Ellis Robinson who is fighting to walk again after a terrible accident left him paralysed from the neck down.

It will be the second consecutive year that the walk/run has taken place and supporters are more than welcome to take part and donate generously.

The day was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who took part last year and was capped off with a 3-2 win.

Anyone taking part should meet outside the club shop at the Crown Oil Arena. Walkers are to set off at 10.15am with the runners setting off 15 minutes later at 10.30am.

Two pubs have been selected to stop off at en route. The first being the flying horse hotel in Rochdale town centre. The route then continues along Drake Street and on to Oldham Road before reaching the second pub, The Summit on Oldham Road. You will have the option to stop at a third pub, The Railway Inn before arriving at the ground for the derby.

All welcome to call at more pubs along the way but don’t forget to bring your buckets for donations along the way. Anyone wishing to take part can pick up a sponsor form from the ticket office and club shop or download a form from the dale trust website.
