Actor in running for top TV soap award

-

ROCHDALE-BORN TV star Ben Ryan Davies is in the running for Best Actor at this year’s British Soap Awards.

The Hollyoaks star has been nominated for his role in the soap’s hardhitting plot looking at sexual consent.

Ben, who plays ladies man Nick Savage, has previously spoke about how the storyline was a ‘big responsibility.’

Interviewed when he joined the cast of the Channel 4 soap last year the former St Cuthbert’s High School pupil said: “I think this is a very important issue so young men and women are educated about how to get and give consent and keep themselves safe while negotiating milestones like going to university for the first time.”

And this week Ben took to Twitter to urge fans to vote for him and his cast mates.

He wrote: “Please, pleeeease vote for me as best actor and all things @ Hollyoaks at this years @ SoapAwards.”

In a post on Facebook St Cuthbert’s wrote: “Former student Ben Ryan Davies has been nominated for ‘Best Actor’ in the British Soap Awards!
