Deli cooks up the taste of success

-

NAIM Iltaf is cooking up a storm at his new town centre deli.

Business is booming for the boss of the Deli Place in The Walk after he secured business rates discounts for his fledgling shop.

The shop only opened a short time ago and was awarded an 80 per cent discount in the first year and a further two years’ discounts as part of the town’s unique scheme to help new independent traders set up shop.

The offer is helping businesses like Naim’s pop up in town centres across the borough.

Open Monday to Saturday, staff are run off their feet with shoppers tucking into the freshly made wraps, paninis, kebabs, pasta plus much more.

Naim said: “The town centre continues to improve all the time. It’s looking so fresh and modern with the tram and bus stations and the rest of the work going on in the centre.

“I’m really looking forward to the increased footfall which will inevitably come when the new market opens on The Butts.”

Council leader Richard Farnell said: “It is always heart-warming to listen to success stories like Naim’s.

“Our policy of helping new businesses set up shop in our town centres is really starting to pay dividends. Long may it continue.”
