ASMALL firm has been given its big break after taking part in a campaign to promote independent businesses.

Aromaflow Candles, which is owned by Nicola Cunneen, is set to open its first store after being a big hit during Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre’s Small Business Saturday event.

In December Nicola and six other small business owners took part in the centre’s event to help celebrate Rochdale’s independent companies.

As part of the event, Rochdale Exchange’s Centre Manager, Lorenzo O’Reilly offered week-long promotional space in the centre for each business.

In March, Nicola took her turn and brought Aromaflow Candles to Rochdale Exchange.

And the success of the event has helped her launch a permanent shop in Yorkshire Street, due to open this month.

Mum-of-three Nicola, 46, said: “I am so grateful that I was given the opportunity to showcase my products at the centre.

“My time at Rochdale Exchange was a huge success.

“I set up at the centre just before Mother’s Day, which was the perfect week for Aromaflow Candles as shoppers were stopping by to pick up products to pamper their mums.

“That week alone really helped my business grow with more and more people knowing all about Aromaflow Candles and even contributed to putting a deposit down on my first ever store,. I’m really excited to get the store up and running. Plus, I will now have the space to move my product making out of my kitchen and into the store.

“I would like to say a massive thank you to Lorenzo and the team at Rochdale Exchange and I look forward to welcoming everyone to the store on Yorkshire Street.”

Lorenzo said: “Here at the centre, it is really important to us to show our support for local independent businesses.

“After the event at Rochdale Exchange before Christmas, we wanted to continue our support by offering free promotional space to each company that took part and we are so pleased that Nicola embraced this and had huge success whilst she was at the centre.

“We would like to say a huge congratulations to Nicola and we wish her the best of luck with her first Aromaflow Candles store.”
