Guide to family fun launched
A GUIDE book has been launched to provide ideas for fun family days out in Rochdale this year.
It includes some of the borough’s top attractions, including Rochdale town hall, Hollingworth Lake and the East Lancashire Railway.
The 24-page booklet also includes Healey Dell and Tearoom, Ellenroad Steam Museum and Touchstones Arts and Heritage Centre.
There’s a profile of what to see and do in and around Littleborough, a summary of the area’s major annual events as well as a handy location map of the borough. For those wanting to explore more of the borough’s rich history the guide features blue and purple plaque trails, as well as the Cotton Famine Road, featured on BBC2 last year.
The guides have been distributed throughout Greater Manchester and Lancashire, including hotels, train stations, tourist information centres, libraries and visitor attractions.
Copies are available at Rochdale Visitor Information Centre or from vic@link4life.org or 924928.
Coun Janet Emsley cabinet member for neighbourhoods, community and culture said: “The borough is packed with lots of perfect days out and we’ve put together this guide to give people a flavour of the attractions, activities, heritage and family fun available. Combine it all with our beautiful countryside, picturesque villages, reservoirs, exciting festivals and designer shopping and the borough is a fabulous destination all year round.”
