Festival offers the big stage to local talent
LOCAL bands, dancers and singers are being called to perform on the main stage at Manchester sports festival, GoFest, to gear hundreds of families up this weekend.
Partnered with the Observer, GoFest, is on the hunt for dance troupes, singers, cheerleaders and gymnasts to showcase their talent at SportCity on Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25.
The event will play host to dozens of sports clubs over the weekend in a bid to get families fighting fit, developing news skills and making new friends.
There are already some top local dance acts confirmed and they will be showcasing their skills and talents across the weekend. Families will get the chance to relax towards the end of the day, enjoying a picnic and watching the live entertainment. If you or your children are part of a dance troupe, cheerleading squad or even in a band - there’s a chance to take part and showcase your talent.
Performers will be taking to the stage in the late afternoon and early evening from around 6-8pm when everyone’s taking some time to unwind after a day of sport.
A 45-minute to onehour slot will be allocated to performers taking part and there will be plenty of time for setting up the stage and equipment needed to make a star performance.
The full timetable for coaching activities is now available online, giving families the chance to book their places before the event takes place.
There are over 40 activities to choose from - including scuba diving, climbing and Latin carnival dancing.
