Children’s charities awarded £57,000
TWO charities working with disadvantaged youngsters in Rochdale have been awarded £57,000 by Children in Need.
Deeplish Community Centre Association has been given £30,000, over three years, to run a holiday playscheme.
It will include sports, arts and crafts, drama and photography.
Elsewhere, Khubsurat Dunya Community Group has been awarded £27,000, over three years, to run outdoor activities, such as countryside and forest walks, treasure hunts, camp and bush crafts along with basic first aid training. Khubsurat Dunya Community Group chair Feaz Akhtar-Black said: “We’re really pleased to have been awarded this new funding from BBC Children in Need which will allow us to make a positive difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable children in Rochdale.”
