How to report it
POLICE chiefs and community leaders have urged anyone who experiences hate crime, in any shape or form, to report it.
Anyone who experiences hate crime, or witnesses it, can report it to a number of agencies.
In an emergency call 999 - this is when a crime is being committed or has just been witnessed, there is a risk of injury, or a risk of serious damage to property. To report a non-emergency incident or make a general inquiry, call the police non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. If you don’t feel comfortable speaking to the police, Islamophobia can be reported to charity TellMAMA on 0800 4561226. A number of non-police centres which allow people to report incidents in complete confidence is available at: letsendhatecrime.
