Now’s time to make claim for top award

-

COMPANIES across Rochdale are once again being given the chance to show they’re the business, with nominations now open for the Rochdale Business Awards 2017.

The annual celebration, now in its seventh year, highlights the achievements of Rochdale’s vibrant economy.

Firms will be battling it out in a number of categories, including business of the year, business person of the year and apprentice of the year. Entries must be submitted by Friday, September 29, with all winners being announced in a ceremony at the town hall on Friday, November 10.

Council leader Richard Farnell said: “Rochdale’s business community is thriving. Our innovative companies include British Millerain, which won Drapers Fashion Supplier of the year in 2016, and Source Bioscience, which has the world’s first walk in chamber which can reach -70 degrees. And these are just a few of our success stories.

“Behind each of these achievements is a company which is creating jobs for our local residents and contributing to the wealth of our borough. That’s why it’s so important for them to stand up and be counted. We want them to shout out about their success and the Rochdale business awards is a great way of doing just that.”

The awards are organised by a selection of organisations including the council, Hopwood Hall College and NatWest bank, with sponsorship from local businesses. All proceeds from the night go to Springhill Hospice.
