Hornets playing

-

HELLO everyone and welcome to my latest column, as we look ahead to our final home game of the regular season.

Last week I was incredibly proud of my players, as they rose above the off-field adversity to pick up a crucial win which keeps us in a good position to finish eighth.

With everything happening at the moment it could have been easy for the boys to let the distractions get to them, but instead we focused on the process and were thoroughly

deserving of the win, even if we did make it hard on ourselves at times!

Credit also to Swinton Lions, they have issues of their own which are all well documented, and they turned up determined to put that behind them and get the win.

Luckily for us we were on the right side of the scoreline, but they contributed to a quality and fiery derby encounter, which had the spectators enthralled throughout.

It was great to see what it meant to the lads at the full-time hooter, especially as they celebrated Rob Massam’s crucial try late on.

They go out every week to play for you, the fans, and they are all honoured to wear the Hornets badge for you.

Every time they step out onto the field they want to do the shirt justice, and I feel they have done that time and time again, so your support means a lot to them.

This week we have a tough test as London Broncos travel to The Crown Oil Arena, and even though they are secured in the top four they will want to nail down second spot.

We are under no illusions as to have difficult the game will be, but we have plenty of positives to take into the game from our last meeting.

The scoreboard flattered our opponents last time, and we will be looking to be smarter this time out with and without the ball.

We have been consistent in three of our last four games, so we are hoping that our form can carry on and lead into the Championship Shield.

Let’s all get behind the club again this weekend, the atmosphere was brilliant last week and it gives the players a well need lift at the times they need it most.

Get down in numbers on Sunday and continue that great support.
