‘Caterpillar house’ team puts dream up for sale

-

THE developers of the ‘caterpillar house’ in Rochdale are looking for someone to take on their dream.

Earlier this year the Observer reported on a unique eco home set to be built in the picturesque countryside around Littleborough.

Inspired by the shape of a caterpillar, the four bedroom house originally went on the market for £1,150,750.

Aimed at families, the ultra-modern design also included a huge open plan living space and is surrounded by private land.

However, after moving away from the area the developers behind the scheme have decided to sell their unique design.

Now on the market for a cut price £275,000 they are now hoping that someone else can take on the scheme and make their ●●The Caterpillar House is a one-off new build four-bedroomed eco-home designed by the CJ Partnership. Now the design is up for sale dream a reality.

According to the developer the home, just off Blackstone Edge Old Road in Littleborough, is perfect for young families that enjoy the countryside.

Even once the house is built, the developer says that there is room for grazing and stables for ponies.

Potential buyers won’t have to worry about having to go through any arduous planning procedures either, as the 1.7 acre plot already comes with permission for the unique design.

And the current owner has said that they are also looking to extend them.

If the new owners decide to see the design carried out it will be built to curve around a central courtyard, which can be viewed from every room in the house.

The one-off home has been designed by the award winning Rochdale based architect firm CJ Partnership, which has a long history of creating unusual, eco friendly homes.

Specialising in environmentally sustainable designs, caterpillar the house is one of a number of eye-catching projects the firm, which is based at Blue Pit Mill in Castleton has carried out.

The parcel of land is on the market with Charnock Bates.
