HOW MANY BEDS? FORE!

-

So far during his career golfer Rory McIlroy has earned millions from the PGA Tour as a professional and for two years was the world’s No1. That’s a remarkable achievement for someone who is still only 28 years old.

His story is one of a golfing prodigy who, coached by his father, rose to become one of the greatest players the UK has ever produced.

Rory is the only child of Rosie and Gerry McIlroy and was born and raised in the small Belfast suburb of Holywood. The family lived in a modest semi-detached house where he was introduced to golf by his father at an early age. Rory showed aptitude, dedication and enthusiasm for the sport as soon as he was given his first club.

He then won a World Championship for nine- to 10-yearolds in Florida while practising his skills at the local golf course, where he still holds a membership.

At age 15 Rory was a member of the winning European Junior Ryder Cup and he turned professional aged 17.

He has dominated the sport ever since and at the time of writing was ranked number No. 9 in the world.

His childhood home, which is being sold by a golf enthusiast who has installed their own swing academy in the garage and turned its lawn into a putting green, is on the market.

The house has four bedrooms, two reception rooms, priced £239,950 via agent John Minnis (028 9042 8888).
