Lewis leaves for Bulldogs challenge
LEWIS Galbraith has been released from his contract with immediate effect to join Batley Bulldogs.
The 23-year-old centre joined Hornets ahead of the 2016 season where he returned from Australia having spent two years playing at Sarina Crocodiles under Alan Kilshaw.
He made 43 appearances for Hornets in two seasons scoring 16 tries and was integral in the team that triumphed in Toulouse to win the League 1 title.
On his departure Galbraith said: “I feel as a player and a person, now is the time for me to move on and develop. I have worked under Alan Kilshaw for four seasons now and he has helped me take my game to a new level but sometimes you get too comfortable and there is a risk of becoming rusty and I don’t want that this season.
“I cannot thank the club enough for the way they have looked after me and from day one I felt welcome here. There were some pretty dark days last year that put a lot of pressure on me and my family and Alan and the board worked tirelessly to help me through it and that is something I will always be grateful for.”
Coach Kilshaw added: “It’s always disappointing to lose a player of Lewis’ quality.”
