Missing teen ‘may have visited town’

-

POLICE say a teenager who disappeared during Storm Emma may have visited Rochdale.

Lucy Duncan, 19, who is from Swansea in Wales, went missing on Thursday.

She was last seen driving away from her home in Horton, Swansea, at about 11.55am, just before a Met Office red weather warning was issued.

Officers said she withdrew money from HSBC in Swansea about an hour later.

Lucy’s car, a 14-plate Volkswagen Take Up, was last seen in the Hereford area at about 3pm the same day.

She had earlier travelled on the A465 through Hirwaun and Brynmawr.

In an update on Sunday, police said it is possible Lucy may have visited Rochdale this weekend.

In a statement, South Wales police said: “South Wales Police is appealing for information regarding 19-year-old Lucy Duncan, from Horton, Swansea, who has been reported missing.

“Lucy was last seen leaving home at 11.55am on Thursday, March 1 in her black 14-plate Volkswagen Take up!

“She withdrew money from HSBC Bank in Swansea around an hour later and then it is believed she travelled up the A465 through Hirwaun and Brynmawr.

“The last sighting of her car is in Hereford at around 3pm the same day.

“Lucy is described as 5ft 4 to 5ft 5 inches tall, with light brown hair tied in a ponytail and was wearing black t-shirt, black trousers and bright red jacket.

“Lucy or anyone with information is asked to contact South Wales Police on 101 quoting occurrence number *075482.”

In a tweet, the force added that it’s possible Lucy went to Rochdale over the weekend, but no more details were given.
